Ahimsa Hand

The Ahimsa hand represents fearlessness. The wheel on the palm represents the dharmackra, the word inside the wheel is "Ahisma". The circle on the palm means Samasara or continuous flow. The word "ahimsa" comes from the Sanskrit language.

 

Jainism Flag

The flag of Jainism was mentioned in a holy text in the 5th century B.C. It has five colors, Red, Yellow, White, Orange, Green, and Black. The white represents the arihants, souls who have reached the state of non- attachment towards worldly process. Red represents the siddha, souls that have attained salvation and truth. Orange represents the siddha. Green represents the upadhyaya. The black represents the monks or nuns, and also represents non-possession.

Jain Emblem

In 1974, on the 2500th anniversary the Jain community collectively chooses an image as an emblem for symbolizing their religion. The outer border of the image symbolizes the universe. The semi-circle symbolizes Siddhashila, which is a zone beyond the three realms. The three dots on the top under the semi-circle symbolize Triratna.
