Where it began

Mahavira, the founder of Jainism, found  Jainism  in Eastern India in 550 B.C. On left is a map shown where Jainism was found. This place was home to Hinduism and Buddhism. One of the most popular religions. India shares Islam (13.4), Christianity (2.3), Sikhism (1.9), Buddhism (0.8), and Jainism (0.4).

The map on the right is the map where Jainism has spread through out the world. Many people have this religion, not just people in India but all over the world. Even some famous people have this religion or even studied it. Jainism spread in Bihar, West Bengal, Tripura, Jharkhand,  and Odisha. Jainism has also spread across the world too like the USA (United States), UK (United Kingdom), Canada, Europe, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.The religion has its popularity in some parts of US and many jain temples have been built there. Smaller jain communities exist in Nepal, South Africa, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Fiji and Suriname.
